Collaboration with Susan Goethel Campbell wins Prix de Print!

We are pleased to announce that P.R.I.N.T's collaboration with Susan Goethel Campbell was selected for the Prix de Print in the March/April issue of Art in Print. Entitled Aerial: Other Cities #9, this limited edition woodblock print with perforations is also featured on the cover of the issue.

For the Art in Print competition, an outside juror selects a single work to be the subject of an article in Art in Print. The competition gives artists and publishers the opportunity to have their work seen by a global audience of curators, collectors and peers, and to be discussed within a context of serious art criticism and history.

The juror was Katie Michel of Grenfell Press, a printer and publisher of artist’s books and limited edition prints founded in 1979. Katie serves on the board of the International Print Center New York.

Susan Goethel Campbell’s project at UNT was a true collaboration. Photography Professors Dornith Doherty, Paho Mann, and Adam Neese worked with Director Tracee Robertson to select Susan Goethel Campbell's work for the UNT Art Galleries show, Permanence / Impermanence. Susan delivered a talk at the Gallery and worked on Aerial: Other Cities #9 at P.R.I.N.T. After the exhibition, Susan returned to install her pieces in the Fibers Dye Garden, where she worked with Professor Lesli Roberston.

Student assistants include: Justin Archer, Jessie Barnes, Nathan Eclavea, Sarah Ellis, Zack Petot, Kayla Seedig, Melody Vaughan, and David Villegas.

A photograph of the winning print is on P.R.I.N.T’s website.

Congratulations to all!
