The North Texas Digital Fabrication Group is excited to announce the call for submissions for our Third Annual Symposium, to be hosted by the Texas Woman's University Department of Visual Arts. The 2018 Symposium will include an extra day this time around, with the dates set as April 20 and 21 (Friday and Saturday).
The theme we have chosen is "Humanizing the Digital", which is intended to both celebrate ways that technology-based processes are connecting us to things beyond technology, and widen the circle of those involved in the conversation. We envision a symposium where a diverse range of speakers represent a cross-disciplinary range of topics within the overall theme. The session formats include presentations, panels, and workshops. And we encourage session structures that create space for dialogue to happen throughout.
The deadline for proposals is 10/30/17. Please pass the call along to anyone who might have an interest in proposing, and please reach out to anyone who you think would have something to contribute, but who might not see themselves as being connected to digital fabrication. Here are links to both the call, and the online proposal form, and there is a PDF attached if you want to print out the call and distribute it.
We can't wait to see what this amazing community will come up with!
